Wiki for StrongLifts.com Forum users to create FAQs.
Guidelines:
- Do this fast. No need to lose too much time on layout/spelling/whatever, I'll take care of that. Just get the info out.
- Link to as much article from the blog or popular articles in the forum as you can, the more the better.
- If you need inspiration: spend time on the forum, in each category, you'll quickly see the same questions answered. Take also a look at the comments posted in popular articles like http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/ or http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program-faq/
- Make a note explaining major edits or deletions, so we all know who messed up our beautiful prose and why.
- Let's respect Mehdi's ownership of stronglifts, and not get carried away speaking for him. Remember also the tone of the blog: no need for superiority, whatever.

"* StrongLifts 5x5 Faq: why not a whole faq on that only, to get inspiration:"
a good idea. One faq for questions specifically about sl5x5, and one for questions about the "philosophy" of free weights, compound lifts etc. Only problem is there could be a lot of overlap.

though I think repetition on in the faqs is a good thing- the same ideas will be seen again and again, hopefully sinking in.

overlap is ok, more content

So I've cut and pasted much of the strength training FAQ to the SL5x5 faqs, as most of it was specifically about sl5x5. Adding some new, broader questions for strength training.

I did some work today on the Texas Method article. Should I do a FAQ? Maybe the best thing would be a FAQ about intermediate programming more generally.

Sure somebody, go ahead. I'm busy with the faqs, but will take a look at what you did afterwards, oK? Thanks a lot.

I was finally able to access PBwiki. Tried from work instead of home. Hmm...
Anyway, if it is not too later to help out, where should I start?

hey doo. I'd imagine you'll have some valuable insights into intermediate training, and could knock something up for grip strength (not sure which category that would go in, though).

Quick update, I'm working on the forum/blog, will work on the faqs again very soon, the other stuff has to be done first. Thanks for the help all of you.

Mehdi, re your most recent edit, I think it's important to realize that a woman who weighs 100lb who tries to bench an empty 45lb bar is working at nearly half her body weight. There was a time when I couldn't do that. And I'd argue that most beginners can't do anything like a strict press 5x5 or even 3x5 with half their bodyweight. There was something interesting about this on the crossfit forums recently, with women responding to a guy who was frustrated trying to train his wife. Sure, we should encourage the female half of the population, but I think we need to realize that for a lot of women that empty bar is pretty intimidating.

You got a link to that thread somebody? For some people (women & men) empty bar is indeed too heavy, I already included something about that in the faq, solution is I believe to do some body-weight exercises for a few weeks (squats, push-ups, etc), to build base strength. 2-3 weeks later you could do it.

Tried search for "wife" but crossfit is annoyingly slow right now while people in the US check to see what the WOD is. Basically, they recommend using lighter bars, which is an equipment fix - they're selling access to equipment, after all. Bodyweight might be an option, maybe with DBs to start learning the movements.
